Use Postwoo from Claude and other AI assistants (MCP)
Postwoo is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Once connected, an AI assistant such as Claude can answer questions like "What's scheduled for Bluebird next week?", "Draft replies to yesterday's 1-star reviews" or "Summarise last month for Peak Dental" using your Postwoo workspace.
Connect Claude (custom connector)
- In Postwoo open Settings → AI assistants and copy the server URL (
https://YOUR-POSTWOO-DOMAIN/mcp). - In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Postwoo and paste the URL. Leave the OAuth client fields empty: Claude registers itself.
- Claude opens Postwoo. Sign in (two-factor applies as usual), pick the workspace, choose what Claude may do and, if you like, limit it to some clients. Click Approve.
- Back in Claude, ask away.
The connection appears under Settings → AI assistants → Connected AI apps, with when it was last used. Disconnect stops it immediately.
Other MCP clients
Clients that support OAuth use the same URL and consent screen. Otherwise create an API credential (Settings → API credentials) with only the scopes the assistant needs and configure the client with the URL and the header Authorization: Bearer pwo_….
What the assistant can and cannot do
- It acts as you: it sees only the clients you can see, and can do only what both your role and the permissions you granted allow.
- Read: clients, posts, the calendar, reviews and review stats, the inbox, approvals, analytics (unavailable numbers stay "not available", never 0), client report summaries, tasks, keyword mentions and the media library.
- Write: post drafts, review reply drafts (your text or Woo's), tasks and internal comments. After asking you, it can submit a post for approval or schedule it — if the client requires approval, scheduling sends it for approval instead.
- Never: approve or reject anything, publish now, send replies, delete or share. Those stay with people, here in Postwoo.
- Every tool call is recorded in the audit log.
Developers: see the API reference at /docs and the feature notes in the repository (docs/features/mcp-server.md).
