Find your Place ID

Three ways to find it

  1. Copy your Maps link. Open your business on Google Maps and copy the address bar. Many Maps links contain the Place ID; if yours does not, try the next way. Shortened maps.app.goo.gl links need to be opened first so the long address appears.
  2. Use Google's Place ID Finder. Search your business in Google's Place ID Finder and copy the ID it shows (it usually starts with ChIJ).
  3. Manage the profile? In Google Business Profile choose Ask for reviews and paste the g.page/r/…/review link it gives you.

Why is there no name search?

Looking a business up by name needs Google's Places API, which is billed per search, and it is not switched on here. We never scrape Google, so use one of the three ways on the left — the Place ID Finder takes about ten seconds.

How it works

From Maps link to printed card in two minutes

1

Find the Place ID

Copy your Google Maps link, or look your business up in Google's Place ID Finder.

2

Paste it

The generator builds search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=… for you.

3

Test the link

Open it on your phone: you should see the "Rate and review" form for your business.

4

Print it

Download the QR code as SVG or PNG, or print the counter card or table tent.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

Is this the official Google review link?

Yes. The generator builds Google's public "write a review" address, https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by your Place ID. Opening it shows the rating form for your business. If you paste a g.page/r/…/review link from Business Profile's "Ask for reviews", that link is used as it is.

Where do I find my Place ID?

Three ways: copy the link of your business from Google Maps and paste it here (many Maps links contain the Place ID); search for your business in Google's Place ID Finder; or, if you manage the profile, use "Ask for reviews" in Google Business Profile and paste that link.

Do you store my link or business name?

No. The link, QR code and card are built on the fly from what you type and nothing is saved. Pasted links are read as text — Postwoo never opens or scrapes them.

Can I ask only happy customers for a review?

No — and Google's policies forbid it ("review gating"). Give the same link to every customer. Postwoo's review request pages work the same way.

What does Postwoo add on top?

In Postwoo every client gets a branded review page with its own short link, QR codes, printable cards, scan and click counts, an optional private feedback form and a reviews inbox for replying to Google reviews.
