TikTok scheduling through the official Content Posting API
TikTok's API is strict about privacy and audit status. Postwoo publishes through the official Content Posting API and never pretends a capability exists before it is verified.
What agencies use it for
- Video publishing with caption and privacy level
- Creator settings checked before every post
- Clear status while TikTok processes the upload
Exactly what TikTok allows
Live from the integration itself. Statuses move from pending verification to supported only after an end-to-end check with approved credentials.
Platform limits we enforce before you schedule
The composer checks these for every target so a post is never queued only to fail later.
- Exactly one video per post (MP4, MOV or WEBM; H.264/H.265 + AAC; 3 seconds – 10 minutes, ≤4 GB). The creator's own maximum duration is returned by creator_info/query.
- Captions (title) are limited to 2,200 characters including hashtags and @mentions.
- PULL_FROM_URL requires the media host to be a verified domain of the TikTok app; otherwise use FILE_UPLOAD (planned).
- Unaudited apps: posts are forced to SELF_ONLY and limited to a handful of posts per day.
- Rate limit: 6 requests per minute per user token on the Content Posting API.
What the platform requires
- A TikTok for Developers app with the Login Kit and Content Posting API products added, and the scopes user.info.basic, user.info.profile, video.publish and video.upload approved.
- Content Posting API access requires a product review; until the app is audited every post is forced to private (SELF_ONLY) and only a few posts per day are allowed.
- For PULL_FROM_URL the media domain (Postwoo's APP_URL or S3 public host) must be added and verified under "URL properties" in the developer portal.
- The TikTok terms require showing the creator's privacy options and commercial-content disclosures before posting (the UI must honour creator_info/query).
- Access tokens live 24 hours; refresh tokens live 365 days and are rotated on refresh.
- Analytics need additional Display API scopes (user.info.stats, video.list) or Research API access.
Postwoo handles the app side. You connect with an account that has the right role on the platform.
Questions, answered honestly
Why are my TikTok posts private?
Until TikTok audits the app, the Content Posting API only allows private (SELF_ONLY) posts. Postwoo shows this limitation up front instead of failing silently.
